Vevo earnings are reported 2-4 times per year. As an example, if we’ve just shared earnings reports for August, Vevo might be showing earnings info from March. Keep in mind that not all streaming services submit earnings reports at the same time, so you may receive earnings for your DistroVid uploads from other services earlier than receiving Vevo earnings for the same video.
Vevo reports earnings for views of your videos, while YouTube generates ad revenue from the audio used in your video if you’ve opted into Social Media Pack for your DistroKid release.
Services each have their own requirements for views/streams to be monetized. Vevo specifically needs to confirm that a video has been watched for at least 50% of its length to count it as a view.
As is the case with all other services, we don’t have any say in the rates Vevo pays per stream/view. Their payments depend on ad revenue and whether or not viewers interact with the ad content being displayed on your video. Each streaming service pays differently, and each service has their own payout structure. Services do not provide distributors with a per-view breakdown of what artists will be paid; we don't control the payout rates or frequency of earnings reporting, but we'll always make them available to you as soon as they've been shared!
Please note! YouTube doesn’t allow any shady tactics to boost views, likes, comments, or other metrics, whether it’s through automated systems or misleading viewers. Buying likes, comments, views, or subscribers is against YouTube’s policy, and content violating this rule might be removed.
