Are you seeing red?
If a progress bar turns red when uploading your album, it means something went wrong with your connection and you'll have to restart the upload.
We're pretty sure the error isn't on DistroKid's end. To prove it, here's a little about how our upload form works, technologically:
When you visit DistroKid's upload form, a technology called Cross Origin Resource Sharing (CORS) directly connects your browser to Amazon's file hosting facility (Amazon S3). Unlike typical uploads that require an intermediary server, CORS to S3 ensures that files never actually touch DistroKid's servers on the way in. This means that uploads are super-fast, with fewer potential points of failure. Even if we wanted to break it, we couldn't.
If your upload is failing, check your internet connection. Perhaps try uploading from another location. Or try again later.
Uploading big files is tricky business. DistroKid has pretty cool technology that makes large uploads fast & (usually) error-free. But it's the internet, and things aren't always perfect (though we're trying!)
Note: A wired internet connection is recommended, as any lapse in WiFi can cause issues when uploading.
