The core difference between a Spotify user account (also known as a user profile) and an artist page in Spotify is their purpose – Spotify user accounts are for signing in to the Spotify platform, and an artist page in Spotify is the page that is automatically created to showcase music.
What's a Spotify User Account?
A Spotify user account is the account a person creates to access the Spotify listening platform and/or Spotify for Artists. If you do not yet have a Spotify user account, you can sign up by visiting https://www.spotify.com/signup.
What's a Spotify Artist Page?
A Spotify artist page is the online page for an artist's music on Spotify. When you send music to Spotify through DistroKid (or any distributor) for the first time, an artist page is automatically created for you by Spotify. From that point, your music is available to be listened to by any individual who signs in to the Spotify listening platform through their user accounts and visits your artist page.
Can I Merge My User Account and Artist Page?
It is not possible to merge a Spotify user account with an artist page. However, you may claim an artist page through Spotify for Artists, which allows you to manage the page and pitch your upcoming music for Spotify editorial playlists.
