With DistroKid Publishing, DistroKid collects royalties tied to the composition of a song, including the following:
- Global digital mechanicals: Composition royalties from streams and downloads of your music. These are different from your usual streaming royalties, which DistroKid already collects for all members.
- U.S. offline mechanicals: Royalties generated through offline reproductions of your music, like physical sales.
- Global digital public performance: Royalties from non-interactive online radio (where listeners can't pick the next track), and satellite radio.
- U.S. offline public performance: Royalties from plays in public spaces, including performances, broadcasts, venues, etc.
- Worldwide sync income (on a non-exclusive basis): Royalties generated when a song is played with visual media, like a movie or TV show.
- Settlements/enforcement monies: Money paid to songwriters as part of class action settlements or fines.
If you're already affiliated with a Performance Rights Organization (PRO), DistroKid collects both the publisher and songwriter share of the royalties above. lf you are not affiliated with a Performance Rights Organization (PRO), DistroKid will only collect the publisher share of those royalties.
