Your music videos go live on Spotify worldwide as soon as they're delivered, except in the United States. To release there, your song's publishing needs to be cleared first.
U.S. Requirements
Two things must be in place for your video to go live on Spotify in the U.S.:
- MLC registration: Your composition must be fully registered (100% of shares accounted for) with The MLC, as is required for all video content on Spotify. Make sure any relevant publishers complete their registration too.
- HFA opt-in: All publishers on the song must be opted into Spotify's audiovisual license via the Harry Fox Agency (HFA).
How to Clear Your Publishing
- If you have a publishing administrator, reach out to them — they'll handle it.
- If you don't, HFA's affiliate publishers service can get you cleared.
Once cleared with all requirements, your DistroVid uploads will go live in the U.S. automatically.
