When uploading a release to DistroKid, you must choose a primary genre for your release. You may also optionally select a secondary genre.
The available selection of genres on the DistroKid upload form is comprised of all genres accepted by each service we distribute to.
If you don't see the exact genre you're looking for on the upload form, instead select a genre from the list that most closely represents your music.
Please note that it is not possible to update the genre of a release once it is uploaded. If you would like to change the genre of a release after it is already uploaded, you will need to delete the release and re-upload it with the desired genre.
