Sometimes users upload sounds that contain music in their videos instead of using TikTok's built in music catalog. You can tell if a TikTok video uses an original sound instead of distributed music by clicking on the sound icon at the bottom left of any given TikTok video.
If your music has been used in an original sound on over 1000 videos, you can request to claim the original sound and merge it with your distributed release manually. At this time, TikTok will not accept claims on original sounds used in less than 1000 videos. You can find a link to the original sound page by tapping on the sound icon in the bottom left of the TikTok video and then tapping the share icon on the resulting page:
Make sure you note the time range where your release appears in the original sound (e.g. 0:30-0:38), our agents will need this information to get your request sent off!
If you are certain your music has been used in an original sound on over 1000 videos, you can submit a request to claim your song on TikTok by contacting us here.
Please note: This will not link the release to your TikTok profile. If you wish to have your releases on TikTok linked to your verified TikTok artist profile, please follow the steps here.
