Audio Swap lets you replace the audio file for a song you've already released. Your stats, playlist placements, splits, and metadata all stay exactly the same. Super handy if you uploaded the wrong mix or master (we've been there).
Note: Audio Swap is only available on the Ultimate plan.
What You Can Swap
Audio Swap is for minor fixes and mastering tweaks. Think:
- Click/pop removal or de-essing
- Volume balancing
- Noise reduction
- An updated master
What You Can't Swap
If your new file has significant creative changes, Audio Swap isn't the right tool. You can't use it for:
- Remixes, alternate versions, or new recordings
- Restructured tracks (new intro, extended outro, etc.)
- New production elements (added instruments, changed vocal effects, etc.)
If you submit a file that doesn't qualify, we'll let you know.
How to Do It
- Go to https://distrokid.com/audioswap (or find it under Features -> Helpful When Needed -> Audio Swap)
- Pick your release from the first dropdown
- Pick the song from the second dropdown
- Click "Select an audio file" and choose your new file
- Hit "Swap audio file"
That's it. Your new file will be live on stores within a few days.
